Fiery slow to communicate on startup with Xerox 1000i

Whenever we re-start the firey we have issues with slow communication between the engine and RIP. When Fiery Ticker/Command Workstation starts it will show our paper catalog but fails to show the ink levels. Usually takes a half hour before the ink levels appear. If you try to print before that it will lock up the system. We have had this happen before and Xerox replaced the RIP. It is now starting to happen again. Once the ink levels appear everything runs as normal again.

When ours starts up, it won't show the paper or ink levels right away, but its always popped up before the engine is done "adjusting image quality". Now we noticed our UI is screwing up some counts for us. It was acting screwy when printing some booklets with slip sheets. It was stopping the print job at roughly 50% done and then would restart the job completion bar sometimes. Xerox said they have no clue and just to watch it. Our clicks haven't been screwed up so far so thats all good. Hopefully you get it figured out and now I know of something to watch for on ours!

What sucks is they will want to go through loading system software (1 production day lost), bring in a specialist (another day lost) finally throw up their hands and replace the RIP (yet another day lost) Fiery will point the finger at Xerox, Xerox will blame Fiery and I will sit the a box that takes up to an hour to start up.

We have had count discrepancies between the UI and Fiery too, like major differences. The Fiery is always correct (or at least has been).

Thats what ours is doing. Were talking UI will say 1500 sheets printed and Fiery will be at 650. And yes, our fiery has always stayed correct but our UI did shut down some runs when it thought the job was completed.
