In the last couple of years image-files have come through that don't even open directly in Photoshop.
.jpg (that turned out to be webp) .jpg (that would only open in ACR!) .MP(google moving picture) HEIC HEIF HIF and .jsx and there is the whole SDR vs HDR to come (had someone send me a dozen 16bit RGB scans at A1 or A0 some of them almost 2GB for printing at A4).
At the other end of the spectrum someone sent me an illustrator .eps this week. And earlier in the year I received a 160page book as 160 separate photoshop files, one for each page
