I wish I could do that. But it's driving me crazy that I cannot figure out where it's coming from! I greased everything and hit the central lubrication like four times. It seems to have gotten better almost gone away.

App - Seems if after you lubed it manually, it quieted down so maybe chains were just dry possibly so contaminated with powder that the central lube isn't enough to penetrate. Can't hurt to wire brush them down and dowse them with a penetrant, like PB or LPS. Makes a bit of a mess, but much better than having to replace chains. If it's a high pile, that will only run you about $6500...just for chains.

by the way, app - if it's not the chains it could be the idler sprockets at the sheet drop, or end of delivery, if you will. you could use a mechanics stethoscope to try to get it nailed down. also be sure none of the chain guides are to tight or angled into the direction of chain travel. just a thought.....
There are three pump motors in the delivery actually behind the delivery. My guess is the slow down pump. See if you can change the sound by adjusting the slow down slides, the blow down slides or the de curler slide. Those blowers cost about two grand a piece and they cant be fixed at least Heidelberg says they cant be fixed. The blowers are the same except for the mounting brackets. I believe the two outside ones are the same and the middle one is different. On my press the sound was like the sound of turbines on a jet plane.
I think you were right Junker. I lubed the chains excessively and cleaned the sprockets up and the guides. I think the chain was streching and making the exit transfer cylinder make a humming noise somehow. It has gone away but It wasn't the pumps the air was off. Thanks for the help everyone!
