Currently comparing the Komori Lithrone G40 Advance against the Heidelberg CX 104 for our first large-format press investment.
One major difference I noticed is that the Komori comes with automated colour scanning / closed-loop colour control, while the Heidelberg proposal we received only includes Easy Control (manual scan + operator adjustment, not fully automatic correction).
For shops without highly experienced pressmen, the Komori automation seems attractive because the press can continuously scan the colour bar and automatically adjust ink keys/register during production.

- How accurate is it in maintaining colour consistency over long runs?
- For those using Heidelberg Easy Control only (without Inpress), do operators still need frequent manual corrections?
- In real production, does Komori’s automation noticeably reduce wastage and makeready time?
- Is Heidelberg still superior in print quality/consistency even without full closed-loop scanning?
