I use them - they are pretty useful. Basically it lets you designate text frames and picture frames as containing variable data, then you use its export function to make a FusionPro PDF and it retains all your formatting so all you have to do is assign variables.
It's usually easier than drawing FP text frames directly in the PDF, especially if it needs precise positioning.
