Hello, I´m new to the forum and trying to find a solution for our new Indigo 5600, we are experiencing a lot of problems like the image I´m attaching. Technicians say that we should replace the blanket, but we cannot replace the blanket when it has less than 50% of it´s programmed life. I searched for a solution on the forum but I only found about ink rubbing off to easy, a problem we also had but solved thanks to the technicians.

Thanks a lot for your time.

We have two Indigo 7600s, If we have to replace a blanket, we do it, no matter what the suggested life is. What are you going to do - print with the line in the job? The tech said to replace the blanket, It looks like thats the problem.

Which edge is the feed edge? Looks like a cleaning station line, or something on the artwork.

We pull a blanket off when it needs to come off. Whether that is 1,000 impressions or 90,000.

It actually looks like a streak in the pip to me. But it depends like Sherbert asked on which is the lead edge. Could be something on the wiper blade or a piece of garbage stuck in one of the bid units or even a jacked up corotron grid. I've never seen a new blanket leave a streak like that, but anything is possible. If you can't see that streak on the blanket, it's likely not the culprit. Techs will always just tell you to start replacing consumables. If you're not on clicks and buying a-la-carte, it can seem like an expensive waste to replace items that turn out to still be good. But if you're on clicks.... replace everything until it's solved.

I would begin by looking everywhere closely to see if you can identify the same streak anywhere on the consumables. pip / blanket / cleaning station blade / bid units / corotrons.... etc..

Good luck.
