Hi

Can anyone advise wht are the preventive maintanence steps to be followed for ctp processor @ thermal plates?

1. How we will measure r identify the chemical strength ?
2. How much quantity replenisher need for a plate / level ??
3. Is it advisable to change the chemical every week r what is the frequency ??
4. As per the engineer instruction we never switched off our plate processor ? Is it right ??
5. For eg thro naked eye plates looks good but after printing fine lines r there over the job lightly , this happen becaz of week chemical. How to avoid/prevent such a type of error ??
6. How frequent we concentrate gum / gumming part on plate / processor ?
7. Is room temperature necessary to maintain the chemical strength ?
8. If auto replenisher wont work then how to manage it thro manually ?

regards
Kala

1. If it does not leave the residue AND it can reproduce 1-2% and 98-99%.
2. Depends on processor size and plate spec.
3. Some developers must be changed in 3-4 weeks, some work longer. Chiller helps a lot for developer to work longer.
4. That way your developer is always in optimal temperature +-0.5 C.
5. Light or dark lines? It can be caused by processor but also by platesetter not working right.
6. Look at gum spec.
7. If you have chiller (optional) and heater (always) in processor, room temp has nothing to do with developer. If you don't have chiller, room temp too high is a MAJOR factor.
8. Pour required amount of developer as required per plate after each plate so you keep quality consistent.

You did not mention too many factors so there is no specific answer to your questions. Make and type of platesetter, developer, plates and gum would help to give you the specifics. Also, you did not mention if you have chiller with your unit.

Best of luck.
