How often do you zero set your ink keys on your press and what film thickness are you setting them to?

We use the Erichsen Model 234/R1. 0-25 microns for zero setting.
Cost about $ 800 us

I ask the crews to zero at least 1 fountain per week.
The rolling average keeps the preset close.

You will have to set what micron works best for your shop.
Start at 10 M, if your using the block guage the guys will get different readings.

We also use the Erichsen wheel type gauge for zero setting. Is your press an Ai machine? Are you using either the KHS table or the Ai table to preset? How long do your keys stay at your set zero if you did not do them weekly?

We use the KHS. 2007 machine.

We run a wide range of stocks so the biggest challenge is selecting the right table for the substrate. Using the uncoated table on a coated sheet is the biggest error.

The guys are good about keeping them cleaned and greased. You really have to audit the process to ensure everyone is doing what they say they are.

I can see a small deviation in a 6 week period but we only track 2 tables.
