Hi All

Anyone using this workflow in commercial printing environment. Just wondering how it stacks up against the usual prepress workflow (prinery, printready, nexus).

Thanks, p

It does not worth IMHO, it is a bunch of applications around a HQ rip. You cannot compare it with Prinergy or Prinect.

What zombie meant is a decent workflow can be built around the harlequin engine by adding various components and a lot of scripting. If one takes a look at the Xitron or ECRM's offerings, the results can be impressive. Prinergy, XMF are high-end workflows using rule based automation - and in a different league price wise. It all depends on what YOU actually need. Start by defining what do you expect from a workflow. If you are a midsized printer a few workstations to submit files, perhaps 2 platesetters, want to automate the process and include preflight, previews, proofing and imposition then call Xitron or ECRM and ask to evaluate the Elite or Workmates. Busy shops outputting in excess of 500 plates/shift look for RBA. My 2 cents.
