The Ghent Workgroup (GWG) has released a new specification for small format digital printing. This spec was released under the GMG’s 2015 specifications. According to GWG, these new guidelines have already been adopted by leading preflight vendors, providing standardization for PDF file creation & quality control.
Their other requirements still remain in effect, including PDF/X-4 compliance, PDF file integrity verification, ensuring that overprinting of white objects doesn’t disappear and avoiding color shifts when using the wrong transparency blending. In addition, companies can add additional requirements on top of what GWG suggests.
