New laserhead

Two weeks ago a Kodak-technician replaced a fawlty laserhead power supply.
And yesterday we get an errormessage saying: Exposure head: DTD laser diode over current. So I called Kodak-support and the result is that we need a new laserhead. My question is, can a bad installation of the power supply cause the laser to go down. It is a Trendsetter 800 AL.

Question is what was the reason to replace the PS?
The message you mentioned means that maximum laser diode current has been reached - still not enough to maintain correct laser power. Which media are you using?
How old is the head?
