NPES has changed its name to the Association for Print Technologies (APT). The new name is a nod to the Association’s annual printing event (PRINT 18) and marks a defining moment in the association’s 85-year history. Along with its new name, a compelling new and expanded lineup of programs & services is coming.
Their new name signifies progress toward the completion of its Strategic business plan for the industry, which launched in January 2017. New programs will span the areas of Research & Market Data, Industry Advocacy & Standards, Events, and Communications. A new staff department, “Community & Industry Development,” has been established to advance programming designed to support businesses throughout the industry value chain, including initiatives that will address Workforce Development & Training.
Spearheading the new Community & Industry Development Department, are industry veterans Ken Garner, as VP of Business Development & Industry Relations (formerly of Idealliance and NAPL), and Julie Shaffer, as Associate VP of Program & Community Development (formerly of Idealliance and PIA). Mark Hischar—President & CEO, KBA-North America—is APT Chairman.
PRINT 18 has been right-sized to a 3-day event—Chicago, IL, Sunday, September 30 through Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at McCormick Place South—with an emphasis on printing & other adjacent technologies, which are having a greater influence in today’s world.
