What questions to be asked to a printer to sell single sided laminating films? just to get a better idea of the business abd can recommend them the best suitable product?

Please help!

In my opinion, I really don't think that you're in any position to be selling anything to anyone at this point in time. There is a very wide assortment of laminating films available on the market - everything from dry erase to metalized rainbow film. As a good salesman, your job would be to make professional recommendations on what would work best for the print work that is being done, as well as the added value that laminating films bring to a project. With that said, you cannot do that if you do not fully understand what you are selling. So, to answer your question, you cannot ask printers tons of questions; they should be able to tell you "This is what our customer is hoping to accomplish, what are your recommendations?" Without the necessary knowledge that is required to answer this question you are out of luck.

My advice to you: Browse the internet and look at what's available out there and also take the time to learn about the benefits of each of your product lines and offerings. Additionally, learn about ink chemistry and why certain types of inks must be used when a laminating film is being applied. For instance, inks containing waxes or silicones (which aid in rub resistance) will not enable the film to properly stick to the substrate. Little details like this could mean the difference between your product falling flat on its face, or succeeding. READ READ READ.

To do a one sided laminating job this occurs: two sheets are held together and laminated. Excess laminate is trimmed off, and the pages are seperated. Now you have two sheets of paper laminated on one side.

Here's a bit more info about laminate:
-Gloss laminate is shiney
-Matte laminate has very little reflection but causes the print to appear more cloudy
-UV laminates are used for long term protection, coupled with UV inks and stock
