Plate Processor Question/Problem

We are using a Luxel 9600 CTP system with Digital Negative Plates. When we came in this morning our plate maker noticed that the Plate Replenish Solution had turned blue in the Replenish tank. We have had this system for 5 years or so and have never seen this before. Wondering if anyone had any ideas why this would happen and if we need to be concerned.

P.S. We ran calibration tests this morning and the numbers were right on where they needed to be.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

What's the name/model of your Processor?
Possible backflow through a broken valve of Repl Pump - but it depends on Piping schematic diagramm

Vlad is correct, it's an easy fix. Regardless of the machine make/model, you must probably have a bellows type replen pump - take out the two valves and get them cleaned.

Agreed. If it is a G&J processor, (apologies, only have experience on G&J processors) the 2 poppet valves in the bellows replenish pump are the identical ones as used in the Gorman-Rupp oscillating pumps as usually used on film processors in the past for replenishment. These poppet valves do have a finite life time and do die after a while, causing flow-back or reverse siphoning. Very easy fix.

Please give some more info of the processor, name and type, and I will try to help you.

Best regards,Hans Blok.
