Brilliant Graphics is a commercial printing company located outside of Philadelphia PA. We are an aggressive company with a highly unique understanding of how to take care of customers, and how to produce the highest quality work.
Currently, we are looking for an extremely detailed and success-oriented individual to join our team as a Production Planner in our production department.
Experience in printing, post-press finishing, binding, packaging or a similar manufacturing environment is required.
Please do not apply if you do not have experience in the printing industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Independently manage printing orders from sales representatives from the receipt of specs to the invoicing of the order.
• Plan, outline and detail a print job from start to finish ensuring all aspects of the job are full laid out, planned, and able to be executed.
• Respond to inquiries from internal/external customers and sales people to ensure satisfaction of customer needs.
• Act as a liaison between the CSR and Operations and decide on the course of action necessary to assure that timelines are met and client expectations are satisfied.
• Process new work making sure all specifications match PO’s.
• Manage client business through the plant by negotiating for best schedule and communicate schedule to CSR and Sales Rep.
• Obtain bindery specifications and create layouts as required.
• Requisition raw materials, including paper, special inks, foils, dies, outside operations, and co-ordinate activities between these departments.
• Utilize specific industry knowledge and experience to assure continuation and completion of required product.
• Work efficiently and effectively without management intervention to be able to co-ordinate work internally and externally.
• Attend and proactively participate in daily production meetings.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrate strong organizational skills, while self-scheduling your daily activities. Proactively monitor jobs during all phases of the manufacturing cycle, adjust schedule and job process as necessary. Review detailed job information on a daily basis. Work with other departments to resolve issues. Knowledgeable in reading and interpreting job specifications. Knowledge of graphic arts and quality awareness. Knowledge of Vendor negotiations and procurement. Knowledge of Printing MIS systems. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Basic mathematical skills. Ability to multitask and proactively manage and track multiple projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independent of others without the need for direct supervision. Computer literacy with proven skills utilizing Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
