Question about Neg Processor

Hi,

We use a PantherPlus/46 Imagesetter, and a Danagraf Processor. My question is, what difference will the temperature of the Fixer solution make on the negs?

The reason why I ask this question is, our processor has a faulty thermostat for the Fixer solution. We have been producing some great negs, but I was wondering what would be different if we got it fixed, and it heated up the fixer solution to the proper temp. (at the moment it doesn't heat up at all).

presumably you could set the temp lower on a control panel. if it gets too hot it will cook your fixer. but proper temp should only make your fixer work better. depends on your climate. if your processor is left on all the time your dev and water heat are probably keeping your fixer in range. if it drops to 65 deg f overnite then it would probably get cloudy first thing in the morning

Danagraf A/S + Helioprint does not have branch offices worldwide.
I'm not sure they have any dealer in Australia.
Apply to HQ office in Denmark.

That's what I was afraid of....
They quoted a price of EUR 43 ($76 AU) + EUR 55 ($97 AU) fees and charges + $20 AU bank fees my end... So I pay $193 for a $76 part.

But I guess you have to pay to keep these older machines running right.

And what part you need? Heating element or temperature sensor?

We are after the thermosensor for fixer tank. (Part #31228612)

I do not remember the type of that sensor and have no manuals because my employer forced me to leave all training docs when I left him.
But I remember - Danagraf used the same heating elements as Glunz&Jensen Multiline processors.
May be that's a clue for you !?

I am only fairly new to this industry, where would I be best looking next for possible parts?

AGFA, Heidelberg, Fuji and many others used OEM G&J equipment.
Make your local dealers research.
