RGB to ECG/Spot Plate Conversion: Seeking Solutions!

Looking for a reliable (In house) product, plugin, or software solution for converting RGB files to ECG (Extended Color Gamut) or spot color plates.
Could be something that works with GMG?
We're interested in streamlining this process and ensuring accurate color reproduction.

Specifically, I'd love to hear:
  • What software/plugins are you using for RGB to ECG/spot conversions?
  • How are you managing your ECG files and workflows?
  • Any tips or best practices for achieving consistent color results?

Since you already have GMG then maybe the GMG solution fits: ChannelExtender: Separate RGB to ECG
Or maybe: Touch7 which does the separations in PhotoShop and might be worth a look: Color-Logic | Touch7

Are you already doing ECG and are looking for a more automated method?
Is your intention to boost image color or replace spot colors?
What is your market for ECG - packaging, fine art, or?
How many press units do you have?

Photoshop can pick out the nearest Pantone to RGB in the Color picker, you might have to reload the old ACBs though.
ECG on Ink Jet; the RIP needs to drive from RGB, it would struggle if you fed it pre separated spots. Mine won't access its PANTONE library in RGB mode.
