Ricoh 9110 Fuser belt ripping after 400-500 sheets

My tech and I are completely boggled by this issue on my Ricoh 9110. I run 400-500 sheets and the fuser belt rips by moving off the path. It is basically moving towards the operator or front of the machine. We have gone through 4 belts on 2 different fusers. Thought it was the paper but I've tried 4 different papers and same thing. Tech mentioned there was a bulletin for some braces that hold the top rollers but this completely odd.

Has anyone experienced this or gone through this issue?

I have not run a 9110, nor am I tech. But that sounds like a bearing or possible the roller that the belt rides on is worn. which would cause the belt to continuously drift to that side. The next time you replace the belt, check the rollers, and if you can't tell, measure them. And make sure all adjustment screws are tight. If so, run a little and re-check the adjustment screws.

Has to be roller tension or bearing the more I read about it but what gets me is that it’s affecting two different fusers.

Problem solved. Gap in pressure and fuser roller widened. We run heavy stocks and that’s a result. There is a bulletin techs have for fix but more than likely need new rollers on both fuser units. Swapped out fusers with another shop and no issues at all.

Good catch.

Keep your rollers and fuser unit that you used for the heavy stock, and only use it for that. Than keep another set for "regular" stock. And hopefully you won't have this issue again.
