Sun Chemical is expanding its range of edible inks with the launch of their FSR Ink—developed to meet the specific needs of the food & pharmaceutical industries, and verified for printing directly onto food & baked goods.

FSR has been developed using selected, synthetic food dyes that conform to FDA & EU legislation, and are suitable for food printing. The technology is also suitable for pharmaceutical & nutraceutical markets such as printing on pills & capsules, using mid-viscosity range piezo printheads, such as Ricoh’s GH2220 digital printhead. FSR completes a series of digital, edible inks, complementing the FSE & FSS lines, and enabling food decoration with a full range of digital printheads.

Due to substantial growth in the personalized packaging market, Sun Chemical is collaborating with printer manufacturers, specifically targeting the food & pharmaceutical industries, with the opportunity to add unique value and visual appeal to products.
