Transparency issues w/ Xerox 700 + Bustled RIP *solved*

I was in the middle of writing a long post complaining about my transparency woes with the mentioned hardware.

Had the 'screen mode' set to Enhanced Text & Graphics was causing white boxes around my transparent objects sent from InDesign CS4 or Acrobat (PDF v1.3 -> 1.7), transparency flattened objects included.

Setting the screen mode to '200 Cluster Dot' resolved my issue.

Thought I would share, in the case this helps anyone else.

Cheers

CREO Rip

CREO Rip

We have the same problem with transparencies with our CREO RIP on the 700. I cannot figure out how to adjust the "Screen Mode." Is this a setting on your Xerox RIP?

It is a setting on an EFI RIP, not sure about a CREO.

In the CX700, the SCREENING option is under the QUALITY tab.

You may want to try the OVERPRINT options also to fix a transparency issue.

Even better, flatten your file before sending it to the RIP.
