UV applicator rolers

We are running a first generation TEC lighting xtracoat 29 inch offline coater. One of biggest issues is roller damage. Seems that it doesn't take long for the rubber to start leaving streaks in the coating. These can pretty well be noticed at paper edges after about 20k impressions. We do a lot of paper size changes from 12x18 to 19x25 and every thing in between. We also find that miss-feeds from the pile feeder where the corners may fold over will cause permanent damage to roller. We have tried a couple different types of coverings when having them redone but the issues still return. So wondering those of you who are running offline coater are;
A. Limiting paper widths you coat.
B. Keeping 2 operators on the machine to stop miss-feeds from entering, which is basicaly impossible for a single operator to do on this larger format coater
C. Found a more forgiving bubber roller covering.

The softness/harness of the roller is measured in Durometer.
What does machine and coating manufacturer recommend?
