Is it necessary to use a Primer online before the Application of a UV Gold Coating?

It would be recommended to achieve the best adhesion.

maybe a hit of yellow under the Gold used as a primer might work for you and Mr D is correct if you run Gold through your coater you could be a long time cleaning. Maybe better to get a Perastaltic hose pump and run new lines just for gold if this is something you plan to do on an ongoing basis.

Bottom line rmbob, PRINT your golds and don't employ them as coatings. You, your operation and all involved will be better off in the long run. Trust.
