I am looking for suggestions in updating/replacing the spectro unit on my VLF Sheetfed press that is not in-line.

Have you tried contacting your local X-Rite regional rep?

Usually the larger scanners are tied into the console.

Thanks, Asures. I have contacted our X-Rite rep. There seems to be an issue with customer service with them. Same with Lithec, they are just not responding to us. Yes, our scanner is a stand-alone unit, but it does work in harmony with the press console.

I've actually worked with a 3rd party software company that specializes in closed loupe systems and have personally dealt with their US rep. I've assisted my customers with piecing together closed loupe consoles and can personally vouch for them.

If you have a functioning scanner but just can't tie it all together, this would be your best and most cost effective option for what you're looking to do. The name of the company is Print Flow and they actually do a tremendous amount of private labeling for various equipment manufacturers.

Try calling Greg Basrak @ 801-209-3385.

I have seen it on two older Heidelbergs in two separate shops and one KBA. It's worth the investment and 1/2 the price of the big box brands.
