Xerox: Versant 80/180 toner compatible with C75/J75

Hi PrintPlanet Xerox gurus,

I have a special question for you all: does anyone know if the versant 80/180 toner cartdridges are compatible with teh J75/C75 if one swaps the chips on them? I have a refurbisher who claims that this works without any issues but i would love to know if this is in fact true or not? Did anyone allready do this?
Reason: i have suppliers who can supply me versant80/180 toners but none of them can supply me the 700/770/C75/J75 toners.

wow... I can't say for certain the toner cart is cross compatible. We had a J75 right before the Versant was released and we were one of the first to get the Versant 1100, just a few years later. I know every model of Versant pretty much uses the same toner particulate... but as for the cartridges physically fitting and only needing to do a chip swap? that's an interesting one.
