Thoughts on EBA?/Triumph 6660?

We are still looking at getting a paper cutter and not finding great options so far. Titan are more expensive than we want to pay, Graphic Whizard is probably not durable or accurate enough, which seems to leave the Triumph line. We are considering a 6660 right now even though it is not hydraulic. What we really need it for is cutting packages of NCR paper (with the magnetic pads) and cutting ~1" cover stacks into 22x8.5. We would for the most part be in the mid volume category. Would it be good enough for this, does it have issues to be aware of?

Check Duplo

I have an EBA 550 that has served me well over the years. If you were closer to New York it would be ideal because I'm retiring and will let it go for almost nothing just to get the shop cleaned out. See if someone closer has one for sale, they are great for digital shops, no fancy automation but that's okay. Oops, I just reread, you're looking for a 25" cutter. Used EBA cutters are still great.

Location?? Might have a older challenge 20. Same design etc as the newer titans.

We've had the smaller EBA 5260 for a year under light use and it works well for most things but I have noticed that cutting thick stacks of cover can have a slight arc to the cut. These non-hydraulic, electro-mechanical cutters do not have adjustable clamping pressure, so your only controls for cut quality are stack height, blade sharpness and grind angle.

A 1" stack isn't too thick, though, so I think it could handle it. Perhaps your EBA dealer knows of other shops with this cutter that you could contact for a first-hand opinion or maybe even a demo if a 6660 is in driving distance?

The lack of adjustable clamping is one of our concerns as well. I think it would probably be okay with the available magnetic pads to keep from crushing the paper, but if it doesn't cut quite straight that would be more serious.
