    Sonora Thermal Plate from Kodak

We just did a test on some Sonora plates today at our shop, we were told that they were imaged several weeks ago. We put them on the press and had good results on the first pull. We are currently running Thermal Direct and the image is much stronger on the Sonora and the pressmen were happy with...

Embedding Fonts in PitStop 10 not working

I've been using various versions of PitStop for a few years now but I've recently come into some issues with the font embedding in PitStop Pro 10. My Computer died and I ended up with another iMac (a 2.7 Ghz Intel Core i5) and had to reinstall everything from a ghost drive of my previous...

    U.S. oddness

Gasing up Gasing up (Meddington)"I hate having to punch in my zip code. And NO! I don't want a car wash! You used to be able to pump your gas and THEN pay. Those days are over. Weird though, is that I pulled into a gas station in Mackinaw City, MI and they had an attendant who pumped gas for...

    Epson Pro 9800 Need RIP

Hi there, we have a Epson 9800 that is set up as a Kodak Matchprint proofer. Does a great job. However we've been dabbling in large format printing as there is a small demand from our clients. Running the files through Prinergy isn't always the best solution as the printer settings are rather...

Kodak Service ending soon on Lotem Machines

I'm just going on what I've been told by Kodak, the Lotem's (400/800) will very soon be without service support???? I'll try to get a hold of my local service person. She'll be able to give me an exact date. Thanks for the feedback. J

Kodak Service ending soon on Lotem Machines

Good idea but they are all gainfully employed by Kodak currently, who I'm sure would take a dim view of them moonlighting . . . Thanks Jackie

Kodak Service ending soon on Lotem Machines

Just wondering if anyone out there has some ideas on the best route to go on parts and service on Lotem CTP machines when Kodak ends their coverage in the near future? We're in Kodak country in Burnaby, BC, Canada but that might be a disadvantage when the service window runs out. I know of no...

Oh my, this does not look good on so many levels. The CEO's complete lack of clarity is scary, come over here, I have a great deal on some land in South Florida. Don't mind the gators . . .

    Automatic Color Slug

You should be able to put in the colour slugs using smart marks. You still have to go in and select the mark in import smartmarks but you can put in parameters so that the mark will constantly appear where you want it regardless of the sheet size used. Cheers Jackie

Canon C9075, has anyone had any positive experience with these machines?

Sorry nothing good to report here. Not just the feeding and jamming but bad colour consistency too. Machine is billed as light production, light being the operative word. Kind of like light beer, sort of tastes the same but doesn't quite do the job. Good Luck. J

Xerox 700, Bugs worked out yet?

Thanks for the updates everyone. I totally realize that CMYK digital is never going to exactly match a PMS colour, as long as it's fairly close to the CMYK conversion that's all I ask. The clients colours are a fairly friendly CMYK match so there's no worries there. What I'm looking for is...

Xerox 700, Bugs worked out yet?

Xerox 700 Xerox 700 I guess I'm referring to the many issues talked about on this site. Here is an older post. http://printplanet.com/forums/digital-printing-discussion/16394-feedback-wanted-xerox-700-a/5 This dates back to 2008. Mentioned here (and in other posts) were mottling, RIP issues...

Xerox 700, Bugs worked out yet?

Hi there, looking for an entry level colour production machine and the Xerox 700 seems to fit the bill. The machine has been out for a while and it's well documented on this site the initial issues that it had as it was "rushed" out for DRUPA. What's the prevailing opinion on the machine right...

    Canon 9075 or Xerox 550/60

Canon 9075 Canon 9075 Not a good experience so far with the Canon. I can't go into details as the lawyers are involved. Machine is unplugged and sitting in the corner right now. Looking for any suggestions on a new machine myself . . . J

Pitstop 10 is driving me nuts

I know, it's a bad day when I'm ranting about such a minor thing but aren't these kind of programs supposed to improve productivity? The fact that you prefer Pitstop 7 yourself kind of tells me that I'm not completely off base. Oh well, it's monday . . . J

Pitstop 10 is driving me nuts

OK here is my rant, and maybe I'm not giving the program a chance but I upgraded from Pitstop 8 to 10 and it seems to take way more clicks to achieve the same end in version 10. There seems to be less options rather than more when selecting and changing a colour for instance. Maybe I will grow...

    New Release CS 5.5

For me background processing is not even relevant, it's downright annoying. I would love to be able to turn that feature off.
