    H DFE settings

I created a base template to use for various impositions that we use. I call this test. What I notice is when i click on imposition template and insert my file that I created in smart stream all my settings go away. Settings like slug line, slug line placement and content, auto gutters and...

    Scumming Mystery

When I ran crestlines years ago we got about a year on them and then they would go bad. When they went bad the print problems were always different.

    Indigo DFE using virtual computer

Yes remote desktop. The computer that is the remote is a mac. The dfe is a PC. I am guessing then I should download the PC version of Acrobat. Or should I download acrobat on the DFE. If I did this would my remote desktop see this and allow me to use it?

    Indigo DFE using virtual computer

Our Indigo DFE is in a different room then the machine. We are using a virtual computer to emulate the DFE. My question is in the vitual computer can you down load acrobat reader and use it? This whole system is kind of awkward and we dont want to mess it up by trying to do something that...

    Hp 10000

Still curious if anyone here is running an Indigo 10000. I have been running this one for a week and it is unlike any machine I have ever run. We still have quite a few issues with it. I am friends with another operator here in Minnesota and also know the other operator in Minnesota. Sure...

    Hp indigo bid washer station

The only people that would be interested is people that dont have contracts with HP. When a bid goes down we just swap it out. The newer machines are just plug and play. No mess, just box it up and ship it back.

Should densities be read before or after varnished is laid down?

If you can do either I am assuming that you are running the job waiting for it to dry then putting the varnish on it. This is the only way I can see how you can read densities before the varnish is laid down also I assume you are talking about an oil based varnish and not an aqueous coating...

How do customers check your presswork?

Our customers come in and adjust color they did not like on the proof (something they never bother to tell us when they sign the proof. We then find at least 10 samples of what they signed and mark them as samples then run the rest of the job the way we think it should be run

Ryobi 3302 image perpetually crooked. Help?

You should be able to verify how straight you are cutting the plates using a tee square on a light table. Put one sheet on the feed table of the press and advance it till it just gets to the head stops adjust your side quide so that it is square.

    Hp 10000

There is no shared maintenance for this machine yet. They only have videos and web training for the machine. HP is not saying it but they are pretty much still doing Beta testing for the machine. Most of them just had the drop 3 upgrades done on them. I worked with an indigo operator who has...

    Hp 10000

I have just taken a new postion with a company here in Minnesota to run an HP 10000. The drop 3 upgrades were just finished a couple of weeks ago. I have a background with HP5500,3050 and 2000. My understanding of this machine is that it is so unlike other Indigos that previous experience is...

    HP Indigo Deinkable?

Pretty sure trees and all green plants produce CO2 at night and then oxygen during the day. There was an earlier thread about the indigo ink not being de inkable. I brought this up to my bosses and they did not want to hear about it. Sometimes being green means you have to turn a deaf ear.

    offset sealer?????

I would guess the job calls for a spot varnish and aqueous. If so the varnish will have to be a strike through

    Scumming Mystery

Take the crestline rollers out and scrub them with pumice or clenser. Run them in a bath of vinegar, alcohol and water and see if that improves or has no effect. If so your rollers are shot. If the electrostatic plates are the issue hang one upside down so the gripper is the tail and tail is...

    New Komori Feeder Operator

My experience is on a much smaller press but our SM52 I have seen the cocking of the sheet and it was not static it was curl. Does it more often happen with down curl? Ours was mainly down curl and the side that had the biggest ink lay. The ink build on one side of the sheet created such a...

    Xrite 528 Calibration

I did not release the shoe and attempted to do it though the aperature. I took it in our bathroom with the lights off. No windows so it was pitch dark but kept getting an error on the reading.

    Buying first offset machine

Ryobi 3304 will limit you due to cylinder size. I may be wrong but I believe the image area is the same as it is for the 3302. If that is the case you can only image out to 17.25 inches even though it runs an 18 inch sheet. This means in order for you to run an 11x17 sheet with bleeds you...

    Xrite 528 Calibration

I am not sure where to post it so I am putting it here feeling that more people in this area are familiar with a densitometer. Just curious when you do a full calibration what do you use for the black patch. Normally we would only use the white but it asked if our optics changed when trying to...
