    Metering Roller Wash

Is it possible to use metering roller wash too often? If so, what are the results? It is pretty strong stuff, isn't it? Thanks Russ

Plate does not want to accept ink on outside edges.

Hello I'm running a 2 color Man Roland. When I am trying to lay down a small 13" solid, the outer edges of the image area on the plate do not want to accept ink. I've replaced the water form rollers. I haven't introduced anything new (fountain solution, plates, etc) into the system. It acts...

    Older Chief 15 (green model)

I looked at an older Chief 15 (green model) that we are considering picking up. I noticed that it has a lever above the speed control lever, that our Chief 17 (blue model) does not have. Is that a manual impression lever? Thanks

    Metering Roller Wash

A buddy of mine uses the Bottcher Metering roller wash on a daily basis on his two color Man-Roland press. I've noticed that it is very stong in odor. Is this a harsh chemical? Can it be used on a daily basis? He's had problems as of late, with his water dampener rollers lately. Maybe he is...

Kompac II dampener on Chief 17

Thanks for the replies. Fot now, I find that adding a bit of heavy binding varnish to the ink, seems to help. Russtopher

Kompac II dampener on Chief 17

Thanks. I'm using Anchor JRZ and alcohol substitute (3 ounces each) in bottled drinking water. It works great in my Crestline system. But as I said earlier, the dark blues and burgundy inks are a fight in the Kompac system. Thanks Russ

Kompac II dampener on Chief 17

Hello When running dark blue or burgundy colored inks, it wants to tone. Sometimes a bit of heavy varnish added to the ink helps. Sometimes not. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, how did to rectify it? Thanks

    Ryobi 3302 blanket thickness?

I have the older version that requires the sticky under-blanket and then a 3 ply blanket mounts over that. Does anyone remember what the total thickness is supposed to be? Thanks Russ

    Ryobi 3302 & Tyvek

Hello I know that the Tyvek EPS are too slick to travel down the feedboard, but has anyone tried printing flat sheets of Tyvek on the Ryobi 3302 press? Thanks Russtopher

    Chief 17 - 1 color.

Is it possible to print on the flap of an A-6 envelope and hold registration? I am considering doing a 2 color logo on the flap of an A-6 envelope. Fairly tight registration on a one color Chief 17. Thanks Russ

Feeding black paper on 3302 Ryobi

Tape a bit of white paper over the sensor. And do not miss a sheet when feeding, or you will print on impression cylinder.

    Kompac II toning issue

We have a Chief 17 with a Kompac II on it. It runs great with black ink, but tones with color inks (Reflex blue, red, etc). Anyone else ever have this problem? I am running JRZ fountain solution with a small amount of alcohol substitute. Thanks Russ

    Ryobi 3302 with crestline

No. Would not want Crestlines on the hiedi's or Meihle's.
  17. R

    Ryobi 3302 with crestline

Yes, I prefer the Crestlines over the Kompac's. I ran one of the first 3302's in the States. It had the conventional cloth dampeners. Love the dampeners on the Heidi's and Meihle's. Russ

    Ryobi 3302 with crestline

Dan Why would you want Crestlines on your Hiedi or Meihle?
  19. R

    Ryobi 3302 with crestline

Same here. I run only metal plates.

    Ryobi 3302 with crestline

The Crestlines work best with Anchor JRZ (FujiFilm product now) at 3ounces per gallon and two ounces of alcohol substitute.
