Calculating Print Over and finshing overs

Hi all

Not sure this is the correct area. But here goes....

Can anyone supply me a excel or something on how people calculate print overs. I guess this changes depending on the qty,

ie Qty, Sheets Per Colour, Running waste, finishing processes.

Currently we have 100 sheets per colour then 2.5 running waste, then 1% for each finishing process.

This formula is too heavy on large qty jobs.....how do you work out overs for different qty's ?

Are you using any software for estimating or job planning?

I would start by identifying which process you think your waste is off for. Every shop is a little different, but 2.5 for press run waste is high for us. And we use a curve to taper the waste down to a fraction as qty goes up.
