RE: 10.6 and ApogeeX
RE: 10.6 and ApogeeX
Hello.
We have ApogeeX Mac OS Clients installed and have updated to 10.6. We have, however, run into heaps of problems, mainly to do with networking.
In 10.5, we connected to all XServer shares via SMB. In 10.6, we can still connect fine to the shares via SMB, but ApogeeX moans that the share is not mounted, even though it is. It is as though ApogeeX is reading the paths incorrectly. This is backed up by the fact that when I chose a PJTF template from a share, and click open, the path in ApogeeX displays "\\\PJTF Templates" (yes, three slashes) whereas in 10.5 it displayed "\\XServer1\PJTF Templates".
If I mount the shares as AFP, this problem is resolved. I can now select templates and the path is read correctly. HOWEVER... a second problem crops up where AFP is unable to read long filenames, so many files then become truncated and unusable. I am also unable to connect to the XServer AFP shares by choosing anything other than 'Guest'.
I am really confused and stumped as to what to do next as we are not in the best position to downgrade the OS.
Any ideas?
