Hi All
I am new to the forum after just finding it whilst trying to find an answer for my problem.

I have been running a small canvas printing business for just over a year using a HP z3100 24"
After being very impressed with the quality for the HP we have just got a HP Z2100 44" to run alongside to enable us to offer larger sizes.

The printer works fine on all smaller prints but on attempting to do a 40x60 print after about 10-15 minuets of printing I get an error on screen saying ERROR PRINTING it does not seem to be any error with the printer which is fully up to date with the firmware. The computer is running Windows vista.

If anyone has any ideas we would be very great-full for you input.

I thought I was actually going to throw up in my mouth when I read " The computer is running Windows vista."

I am absolutely certain that if you contacted the RIP vendor they would ask that you either find a copy of XP on eBay and downgrade, or upgrade. No one supports Vista. You error is probably RIP related, not being caused by that device...

Having said that...

The faster your CPU, the faster the software will process your images. Therefore, it is advisable to buy the fastest computer you can. While more RAM will also help speed up the processing, it is the speed of the CPU that directly affects how fast a RIP runs. If you are processing large files over 100 MB in size, it is also advisable to upgrade your hardware configuration to include significantly more memory than the minimum requirement specified above.

Best of luck, hope this helps...

Hi
Vista wasn't the operating system of choice it was on the computer when we got it, was just hoping we wouldn't have to re-install everything. We had the same problem on one of our other systems running our z3100 24" and XP did solve everything.
Thanks for the advice.

@ Tj Canvas - yes, understand that sometimes you are handed a hot steaming pile - sorry for your troubles. Having sold and supported the Compose Express RIP ( based on Global Graphic Harlequin SDK ) - i can tell you that Vista was not a good OS for RIPs and had many memory leaks.

Best of luck in that transition ...
