Ijet color 1175

Have a 1175P for 3 years. We average 100,000 per month. Been reliable and cost effecient compared to our previous OKI based envelope printer. Biggest issue are large envelopes, 9.5x12.5 and 10x13s. Feed issue and doubles. We end up running them slower. Only accounts for about 5% of our volume. We went with the iJet over the Kirk Rudy based on printhead and overall length.
We are looking at one now. I'm curious about print head life. And what is the duty cycle? When we all talk consumables, what are they for the 1175P? I mean we know the ink and the print head, but is there anything else. We currently have two Mach 6 styles machines, and they are WAY better than the Mach 5 style. But thinking it might be time to move on to something else.

We bought a Kirk Rudy Firejet and have put over 4 million impression on it in less than a year. It has been a super versatile machine for both envelopes and sheet printing. Inks run 620.00 for a 2 liter box and printhead is around 5800.00. Still havent changed the print head so very happy with the life span thus far. From what we have heard, 5 million impressions or more is possible before changing print head. We run most envelopes landscape which allows us to run anywhere from 10,000 per hour, to 20,000 per hour. It has a registration table so we are able to produce a wide variety of sheet work on many different substrates. I looked at the 1175 but it did not have the versatility I was after for the price.

I have the mid range iJet — can’t remember the number, but I love it
Each job you run is costed out based on coverage which is a great tool for bidding large jobs — we saw the silky low costs of a basic bleed design and gave them as free upgrades to non - profits that landed over 20,000 pieces of new business
Need to have a good operator as there are a little of possible tweaks needed for maximum output

Checking if anyone is still active on this thread, or if I should start a new one. I have recent experience with the HP FI-1000 print engine in the FORMAX ColorMAX9, and would like to discuss general topics like Ink cost (usage), and then open to discussing the ColorMax...

I have the Quadient Mach 7 so I would be interested in this, I would start a new topic as they are different from the ijets.

Running a corner copy on a 9x12 now that has a solid 1.5"x3.25" rectangle with the type in reverse and it's running at $8.55/M. That includes the ink head and ink costs. We are on our original head with 4.5 million on it.
so good result 4.5ml

Hi guys. I have chance to buy out a lease returned nice Ijet color 1175. But I have to make a realistic offer to the Bank. What is one of these realistically worth? Lets assume in nice shape as previous purchases of various equipments were really nice and usual out of corporate in-plants with minimal usage, like 8,000 pages on the meter on Xante EN-Press :) please LMK what do you think.

Depends on the model, ijet has quite the range of machines now. I can say if you can pick it up for $10k you would be doing great, but as with most things need more details.

Its like asking how much is a <insert car name> worth, without the details your guessing.

I would carefully research the consumables cost. We found that the iJet we purchased was not as profitable to operate as they made it sound due to the consumable costs.
Specifically the items required to do the regular maintenance, the ink cartridge costs and the print heads. Unless you're doing very high volumes of envelopes. It was slightly faster in volume production and made sense for envelopes printing in grayscale only. For everything else, we found that the iJet ended up being comparable in costs to run envelopes through our digital printers (with a click charge) vs. running the iJet. The quality of ink printing on it wasn't as good as the digital color envelopes.
It's definitely was not a setup and walk away type machine to operate.

Yes, go into inkbags.com guys, they make a system, which allows to make cost of ink down by 5-6 times. So cartrige will cost you 20-25 usd.

You are referring to iJet as if it is 1 printer when in fact it is a brand. It would be like saying my Ford uses too much fuel and is not profitable to operate. The 1175P will hands down out print anything toner based in productivity. Our experience with a Xante EnPress and iJet 1175P is the iJet will print in an hour what the EnPress will print all day. As for consumables, you need to figure that into your cost to print. Consumables are not that expensive, our print head has over 6 million on it when they said it should last about 2.

Like I said, research it carefully and make sure you understand your numbers.
It's clear these machines have a specific target market. If you aren't that market then it might not be the right machine for you.

Nope, not that's way.
Ijet using FI-1000 technology. And doesnt matter which machine is it Astro-nova, Postmark or Ijet. Inside the same funktionality and the same engine and the same printhead. So it's only depence which job you have and how much you can earn from machine per day. That's it
