Have a 1175P for 3 years. We average 100,000 per month. Been reliable and cost effecient compared to our previous OKI based envelope printer. Biggest issue are large envelopes, 9.5x12.5 and 10x13s. Feed issue and doubles. We end up running them slower. Only accounts for about 5% of our volume. We went with the iJet over the Kirk Rudy based on printhead and overall length.

We are looking at one now. I'm curious about print head life. And what is the duty cycle? When we all talk consumables, what are they for the 1175P? I mean we know the ink and the print head, but is there anything else. We currently have two Mach 6 styles machines, and they are WAY better than the Mach 5 style. But thinking it might be time to move on to something else.

We bought a Kirk Rudy Firejet and have put over 4 million impression on it in less than a year. It has been a super versatile machine for both envelopes and sheet printing. Inks run 620.00 for a 2 liter box and printhead is around 5800.00. Still havent changed the print head so very happy with the life span thus far. From what we have heard, 5 million impressions or more is possible before changing print head. We run most envelopes landscape which allows us to run anywhere from 10,000 per hour, to 20,000 per hour. It has a registration table so we are able to produce a wide variety of sheet work on many different substrates. I looked at the 1175 but it did not have the versatility I was after for the price.
