KM 6501 envelope printing?

Hello Folks!

First post here but a long time reader. We currently have a Konica Minolta 6501 in house. I have been trying to get any size envelopes to run but have had little luck. If anybody out there has tried/failed/accomplished please post here and let me know what you tried out!

I don't think you're going to have any luck there, that is one erratic paper path for an envelope to make it through. I've tried it on my 6500's ages ago, with no luck.

I print envelopes on mine all the time from tray 5. the trick is get your tech to turn off double sheet detection then run them with the flap open with the bottom of the envelope being the lead edge. Remember you will have to set it as a custom paper size on the machine. Works great with regular number 10's. You can stack between 50 and 100 in the drawer and let it run at 65ppm.

You will have to watch them as they come out as sometimes there is a one that gets skewed. Other sizes are a little more problematic. Large ones seem to wrinkle and small ones skew.

Tray 4 and 5 are the only trays with MFD so don't worry about turning it off if you don't have them installed. Trays 4 and 5 if you do have them installed have two extra paper guides that swing out at the narrow setting to feed 100mm wide paper, MFD can now be turned off in user mode.

The envelopes skew due to the speed. I suggest you go into process adjust and set the the 'speed setting' to 'down' for a slower but less wastage result.

I Have never been able to understand the economics of printing envelopes.
