Komori LS 40" INK DUCTOR

Does anyone ever have problems with these ductors ducting while in idel? I have had two units doing this recently. We have tried re-striping and it will still want to duct, even when we select the ductor off. Any advice will be appreciated.

The magentic valve could be the issue, the lithrone was either the valve or the bolt would break on the mecahnical linkage on the operator side.

LS, take the catwalk step off between the units and fire the valves manually

Agree with CKL, solenoid may not be deactivating piston, or spring and shaft could be jammed, have 2 Komori's 40" and both have similar ductor issues now and then, usually take the cover off operator side and work the spring and shaft in upper left side while manually working the ductor control button, can have same problems if required air pressure is not adequate due to numerous leaks on older machines.

Take the O/S side cover off and locate the solenoid. The solenoid has an actuator arm that rotates up and stops the lever from moving which stops the duct action. The bearing on the end of the lever is on an eccentric. Loosen the bolt and rotate the centre of the bearing only just enough to allow the solenoid arm to pop into place, thus stopping the duct action. It is a very slight adjustment. You don't want the bearing to be bouncing up and down on the solenoid arm when the duct action is disengaged. I had this problem show up randomly on every unit in our press for the first few months. Not sure why. You will understand the adjustment better when you have a look at the mechanics of the solenoid etc. Select/deselect the ductor on and off while watching it. The arm of the solenoid will clearly not be able to get under the bearing to stop the duct action if this is the problem. A slight adjustment to the bearing as described and you will see it pop into place...... Hope that explains it.
