The processor keeps thinking the waste tank is full but it is not. Not sure what to do. I tried dipping the nozzle into hot water in case the sensor was dirty. Help please.

The waste Tank is full

The waste Tank is full

This is a problem faced by 30 customer of mine with Agfa LP-82 and LP-150 Processor.

The Lower sensor of the buffer tank will not sense a 0 because it is sitting in the mud of waste.
1- Clean the sensors
2-Take the tank out and Rinse and clean it .
3- Check the wirings to the sensor.

There is a way to bypass the Waste motor and make a direct connection of waste to the drain, but if you are using the drain. Agfa introduced an expensive modification Kit which you do not need. I can tell you how to do it with parts which can be purchased locally. if you aren't collecting your waste..

I can also tell you how to reduce your waste by 50% to 60% if you install a simple Waste kit reduction(But it isn't free). This kit will help to reduce your chemistry usage, less wast, saving more money on High price of Developer without effecting the quality of LAP_V Plates

Hope this will help.

Some fluid penetrated inside the level sensor assembly despite the protection with kinda epoxy compound. There is something corroded on that small green PCB inside.
AGFA techs replaced the whole pipe with that level sensor at output side because that's only one spare part available, not sensor PCB.

Farshad, How many sensors are there? On the waste nozzle I see a grey tube about 4" long and two thin posts either side of that, one longer, one shorter. Are these two the sensors?

ValCanda told me that Agfa solved your problem. Although, I could have solved the problem with out changing the unit, and it could have cost you less.

If you want training on the system, I can do it online, but you have to realize that we can't discuss confidential information here.

Hope you will understand.

Farshad, I made a correction in my post.
I meant that AGFA Service did to fix the problem many times worldwide... not in that case.

Nevermind, I found a solution that has corrected the problem. Thanks for your help anyways.

Yup, most people after posting their Machine problem on Print Planet will find a solution themselves

with out any help.

As Val said long ago, for many people repairing a Pre-press machine is like changing a flat tire in the busy highway.
