Quantum Lotem 800

Hi Does anyone know if there is a tiff catcher for the above CTP device? We have one that is using Brisque workflow, but are now looking at different frontends, but face the issue of how to interface these with the above device. All my searching has only lead to dead ends, and it looks more and more that we are locked in to using Kodak EVO or Prinergy. If anyone has any knowledge of a compatible tiff catcher i would be interested in your advice or hearing about your experiences.

You can use your Brisque as a TIFF catcher.

Thanks for the info. I should have pointed out that this has been tried and works OK, but the other issue we face is the aging hardware and support charge to continue to use Brisque into the future. We are looking, if we are successful to turn the old system off in favor of a new workflow and interface. However we have not found any tiff cather type interface that would allow us this flexibility.

Kodak provides a 1-bit TIFF workstation for Kodak 8-up CTP devices, which includes the TIFF downloader software and performance server. The 1-bit TIFF workstation can also be used for connecting 3rd-party workflows to Kodak CTP devices, including the Lotem 800 Quantum platesetter with 1-bit TIFF.

I suggest that you contact your local Kodak representative for more details.

Does any one knows if there´s a Tiff catcher for this machine i dont want to use the brisque cause its lack of spares, and high cost of them. the machine is a Lotem Flex 4045 and it is a old machine that is hooked up to the brisque with a TSP card from scitex. thanks for any help.

TIFF RIP to Brisque

TIFF RIP to Brisque

RTI sells TIFF Harlequin RIP-Kits that can output 1-bit or 8-bit TIFFs for $3,500. You should be able to use your Brisque RIP and feed 1-bit TIFF files to it. Check out CTP Software Harlequin TIFF RIP CTP Separation Software 1bit 1-bit TIFF RIP Platesetter for more information on the software. If you do not want to use the Brisque, I am not aware of any other software that would drive the device directly.
