SM 74 Printing blanks

Hi everybody,

i have been suffering the last three months or so with blocks of blank sheets in the jobs, this happens on two sm74 5 col presses. it appears after a misfeed that when the press restarts with the impression button the sheets are blank and the press must be stopped and restarted to get impression to drop back on. Has anybody else had any similar issues ?

Something to look at would be the pneumatic pistons that engage the units for impression. If there are air leaks or possible condensation the pistons they might not work properly. They will engage intermittently. I don't know the how old the models are that you have but there is a way to engage the unit on impression from a CPC 104 console or CP2000 from the service menu. This can be a method to check for suspected leaks.You may also have an electrical problem. Since it is happening on 2 presses you may want to get a professional opinion from a Heidelberg technician. There might have been service information issued by Heidelberg regarding similar problems.
