Smartmarks in Preps

I've created a black + 1 spot color bar in Illustrator, saved it as an eps and a pdf and placed it in the Dupmarks Folder in Preps. I then created a smartmark from this file and saved it into a folder in my Smartmarks Folder. In my Preps template I import this group of Smartmarks and everything looks fab. I then go to Prinergy Evo, refine, jdf, etc and when I look at the VPS, the color bar does not show up. Any thoughts on where I went wrong?

When you are outputting your pjtf or jdf does it allow you to map the colors there. VPS > Settings > Color tab, I am just curious if it is showing up at that point or not.
