Spot colors in InDesign CS4 showing up as process

I have a project from a client that is using several spot colors, as well as process. In Separation Preview, the spot colors show up as process. Same with Output. The Swatches panel shows clearly that the spot colors are indeed spot colors. I then changed the spot colors to PMS colors from the PMS library. Still, the PMS colors only show up as process, in both Separation Preview, and in Output, and also when I RIP the file. If I delete all spot colors, and delete all but one page, and delete all items from that page and then add a simple box filled with a new spot color, it works fine. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Good morning. I think what might be happening is that those Spots are being converted in the Ink manager located in the Swatches pallet. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that appears to be where the problem is. Easy solution, problem solved. I never thought of looking there, but I did look just about everywhere else. Its strange that when I added a spot color, the Ink Manager didnt change it to process, but when the designer added spot colors the Ink Manager kept changing it to process.
Thanks for your help!

No problem, happy to help. I remember the first time that happened to me, it took a while to figure it out. Have a great day.
