HI All. I am considering getting a Xerox Versant 280 to replace a 180. I noticed that, on the estimate I got, the machine is listed as the "VS280". I have a friend print shop that apparently has a "VR280". So I was wondering if there are different versions of this machine and what the latest version is. Thank you in advance!
 
I'm not aware of different versions. As regards the main print engine the only difference could be the Performace Model where it's rated speed on all stocks.
Rip, Feeders and finishing units are what you choose.
We've just signed for replacing our Versant 80 with the Versant 280 and it never came up in Ireland.

Initial product code for V280 at launch in 2020 was QAM and it was changed in 2022 to RFQ.
The only difference between the existing and the new Product Codes is the software version that is shipped pre-installed from manufacturing.
There are no hardware differences.
Probably prefixes for VerSant or VeRsant.
