Xerox 700 color to color registration

We are currently having trouble with our Xerox 700 DCP getting it to register color to color accurately. For instance the job we just finished was a color build black (20 C, 20 M, 20 Y, 100 K) with knockout white text. After running several sheets of 12pt C2S stock the color goes in and out of register across the sheet. We are running 12x18 sheets and the color comes out of register about halfway across the sheet. Its most noticeable when the Magenta is out of register as the text appears pink. However looking through the stack there are also a number of sheets where the cyan or yellow is out. Looking under a loupe its at least 2-3 dots off.

Anyone have any idea what we could do to fix this? The stock is within the machine's 300 gsm max coming in at 267gsm but it is rather stiff. I've only noticed the registration problem when running heavy stock. Is there something I can check that might be causing this problem or am going to be relegated to running only lighter weight stock?

First of all like unoprint1 writes check grain direction.
Second what is the SW version of your engine, early versions had this problem?
Third do you have OHCF installed or you are running the paper from bypass?

I would also suggest checking on the sw levels of your unit.

in addition, you may also want to try a different screening option in the RIP.

call your engineer and log a call. engineer mode has a menu option that they can adjust the colours in numerous parts of sheet...our machine started going out of register after it had so many clicks...general parts wear and tear and they put it back into line in a matter of minutes. machines as good as new again :)
