Printing short runs on the 250 and color will drop off as the run progresses - sometimes in as few as 25 sheets. I stop and switch the color drums around and sometimes that brings the color back. Sometimes i also have to recalibrate. And there are times when i recalibrate and the color does not come back to what i started with. Yesterday teh tech was there and finally got the color consistant from side to side on the sheet, and recharged the color developers. But the next job i ran after he left had drop off.

Anyone ever have problems with digital 'presses' and color consistency? Xerox is at a loss, they don't know what to try next.

Actually this is our second unit, the first one WAS declared a lemon. The Xerox guy was there the last day and a half. Finally some one seems to have pointed him in the right direction. The last software upgrade apparently did not properly or fully install. Something about NVM allocation and some default settings for color value. Yesterday afternoon it ran great. he is coming back today also to make sure all is good. I have to say they are good at service, but you'd think someone would have known about this issue instead of fighting it for months and replacing practically everything in the machine.........

Have Xerox send in a specialist to work on it. It may be the lack of training on your tech. that is causing the problem to NOT be fixed. I have found that their engineering folks can solve almost every problem, you just have to get your tech. to ask for help and swallow a little pride.
