Hello! First post here so be gentle!
I recently purchased a used (ex-Xerox contract user) Xerox Versant 180 with various finishers, and am running it on a self maintained basis. ( I am an ex EPSON engineer and ex IT support, so all well within my comfort zone)
Having only had it a month or so I have just about finished getting it all tuned to paper stocks and working out how the Fiery works etc.
Of course there are some minor niggles that I am seeing and want to fix.
The problems:
1: Print density seems a bit high (Colours too strong, seems like there's a little too much toner being applied).
2: There is a very, very slight yellow density difference across the page
In order to try to fix this I went into the SIQA Density Uniformity Adjustment tool and tried its auto-adjust thing, it prints out 2 colour charts (CYMK and RGB) and then you scan them - However after the scans are complete it simply states "Completed with errors" and no adjustment is made.
I can't find any way to find out what this error actually is, its like a computer saying "unknown error" - Great thanks...
Any ideas what can cause an issue here? The test pages look fine and are oriented in the scanner as per the instructional video.
I'm printing on SRA3 silk 130 (for example).
The "manual process" options are not named very well, I have managed to adjust the yellow inboard/outboard density issue, but cant figure out how to lower print density a a whole. I can't find instructions for this anywhere at all.
