We are running 4 stations of preps and just upgraded one to 6.2. We print all of our work as jdf to nexus and in 5.3 we were able to turn off colors that we did not want to print. In 6.2 all the color boxes are grayed out and we can not uncheck any unwanted color or be able to just print a spot...

They did the same thing to us. They replaced our developer housing with one from a different machine. I forget what series they pulled it from but it was not from a 700. So far, it has been holding but we have not had any long runs since they replaced it.

We have been having the same issue with color density staying the same throughout our runs. This has been an ongoing issue for over a year. Every time this happens Xerox has to come out and replace the developer units. The problem will then go away till the next big run.

Preps 5.3.3 does not allow you to turn off separations when printing pdf to pdf. You have to print to jdf in order to control separations. In Nexus, you will need to build a jdf workflow.

You are correct. In Preps 5.5.3 if you print to pdf, you can not turn off the separations. That option is available only if you print to jdf.

Our creo is version 1.5 service pack 1. That might be your issue. The service pack is a download from xerox.

Under the Execptions tab. Select insert, Select before, type page 1 and select tray 8 and then hit apply and it will show up in the bottom window. That should work.

We run house stock through our 700 and have had great success.
