Do superheroes need to have a superpower?

Had a discussion recently about superheroes and the question in the subject line came up. Can Batman be qualified as a superhero?

Wikipedia says it best.

A superhero is a fictional character "of unprecedented physical prowess dedicated to acts of derring-do in the public interest".

By most definitions, characters need not have actual superhuman powers to be deemed superheroes, although sometimes terms such as costumed crimefighters are used to refer to those without such powers who have many other common traits of superheroes.

Where does the line go in clasic mythology? Achillies, Odysseus, Hercules? And does a hero like Rincewing or Captain Vimes qualify?

I suppose you can say he is a super hero. What's a space anyway?
