A 50/50 joint venture has been formed for the joint development & marketing of single-pass digital printing systems for folding cartons and corrugated packaging. Pending antitrust clearance, expected the end of May, the joint venture will be known as Koenig & Bauer Durst GmbH.
Business operations should commence at the end of May, with its registered office in Würzburg. The new entity will cooperate closely with both parent companies to develop new, more efficient single-pass digital production solutions the packaging industry is looking for. Initially, the joint venture will comprise the Koenig & Bauer CorruJET 170 and the Durst SPC 130—including all services, the ink business, and the development of the VariJET 106.
