Happy Birthday, Canada!

Question - Just out of curiosity: (probably a stupid question, but, I gotta ask)

I know that America is over 240 years old (1776 - 2017), so, since Canada is turning 150, that means America was here 90 years before Canada.
What was it called before it was Canada?

The country was divided into two sections called Upper Canada (now Ontario) and Lower Canada ( now Quebec). This dates back to the 16th century.

Was Upper & Lower Canada Countries in and of themselves?

No, Upper and Lower Canada were British provinces. Before it was the country of Canada, it was a possession of Great Britain, before that it was a possession of both Great Brittian and France. But the limeys ran the French off before the American revolution . . . which was one reason, among many, that the French were willing to help the Americans in their war with the Brits.

No need to build a wall. We already own you. Now you know why it's called the U.S.Eh!

I wouldn't mind becoming Canada but you guys need to do something about the speed limit. I was in Calgary the other week and 50KPH on the highway with speed cameras just ain't gonna fly. In Dallas you can go 70MPH inside the inner loop, which means 90MPH for most drivers and means 150KPH for those not using Freedom Units.
