Description: Full-time, nine month faculty position based on a yearly renewable contract to teach undergraduate courses in one of the country’s premier graphic communications degree programs. Applicant must fit within our highly technical, hands-on oriented philosophy and have expertise in three or more of the following areas: electronic prepress, digital photography, digital workflow, offset lithography, screen printing, flexography, gravure, digital reproduction, web development, or finishing and fulfillment operations.
Qualifications: Effective oral and written communication skills are required including use of creative lecture and laboratory teaching strategies and proficiency in instructional technology practices. Ability to conduct and supervise student scholarly activities and research. Demonstrate commitment to maintain a safe and healthy laboratory environment. Possess effective interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with colleagues. A doctorate and 3-5 years of teaching experience is preferred, however, applicants with Masters degrees will also be considered.
Responsibilities: The individual filling this position will be expected to primarily teach undergraduate graphic communication courses, including intensive hands-on laboratory courses and classroom theory. Furthermore, they will assist with course and curriculum development, advise students, develop and maintain laboratories, assist in developing and maintaining industrial relationships, assist with industry training if needed, and participate actively in department, college and university activities. Additionally, they will be responsible for ordering appropriate supplies, lab maintenance and, creating and maintaining relationships with a network of industry professionals.
Department Information: The Department of Graphic Communications (GC) offers instruction leading to the Bachelor of Science degree for undergraduate students and a Master of Science degree for graduate students. GC is one of six departments in the College of Business and Behavioral Science. Faculty, students, and industry partners provide a dynamic learning environment in Godfrey Hall (on-campus) and at the Printing and Converting Research Center located approximately 7 miles from the main campus. Rank: Lecturer, one-year renewable position. Non-tenure

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with academic preparation and experience.
