Lifting Cutter....

We had a guy buy one of our old Challenge 305 cutters. We had it sitting on our dock and he handled the loading into his truck. He got one of the guys in a neighboring building to pick it up with a forklift and set it into the truck. He lifted it, with wood for cushion, by placing the fork under the cutters clamp. It worked, but seemed like a bad idea to me. He said the clamp was designed for that kind of pressure, but I felt like it was designed to be pulled on with that much force, not having that much force try to push it up.

Does anyone know if moving a cutter that way is acceptable or if it risks damage?

I mean, I wouldn’t have done it that way but if he breaks it, that’s his problem now right? Hopefully.
